Horti Tergestini

Domenica scorsa, presso il parco dell'ex Ospedale Psichiatrico si è tenuta una mostra mercato del fiore. Nonostante il tempo non fosse dei migliori, ne ho approfittato per cogliere dal vero una colorata scena di mercato. Seduta sotto un glicine dal profumo inebriante ho dovuto tuttavia lavorare in fretta, e limitarmi ad uno schizzo, vuoi per la pioggia che il glicine non bastava a trattenere, vuoi per la folla... comunque è stato divertente :)

Last sunday a flower market was held in the park of former lunatic asylum. Although the weather could have been better, i took the opportunity to paint a colourful market scene. Sittig under a wisteria which inhebriated me with its scent i had to work quickly and produce just a sketch, since wisteria is not totally impenetrable by rain and also because the area was quite crowded... it has been fun however :)

Vacanze pasquali

Quale periodo migliore della Pasqua per lavorare "en plein air"? Il tempo è mite, l'aria è profumata ed allietata dal canto degli uccelli. Il mondo è pieno di colori che non vedono l'ora di finire sulla mia tavolozza... insomma, paradiso ;)



Which better time than Easter to work "en plein air"? Weather is warm, air is full of parfumes and birds' songs. The world is full of colours asking nothing more than my palette... in a word: paradise ;)



Questo è il risultato del mio lavoro durante queste vacanze: 3 giorni su 6 dedicati alla pittura non è male :)



This is my holiday work. 3 painting days out of 6 is not a bad average :)

La valle dei pomi

"La valle dei pomi", ovvero "la valle dellle mele" è il nome con cui è popolarmente conosciuta l'alta valle del fiume Timavo, nella regione del Brkini, in Slovenia, sì e no ad una mezz'ora di macchina da Trieste. Si tratta di una zona che ho scoperto solo di recente (da quando i confini si sono aperti un anno fa, mi si è aperta tutta una nuova area per le mie esplorazioni fuori porta...) e che offre spunti spettacolari per lavorare "en plein air". L'altro sabato, in piena fioritura primaverile era un vero paradiso!


"Apple valley" is the popular name dor the upper valley of river Timavo, in the region of Brkini, Slowenien, about half an hour drive from Triest. It is an area I discovered just recently (after the disappearing of border formalities an entire new area has offered itself to my weekend outings) and that offers spectacular subjects for "en plein air" work. Last saturday, in full Spring blossoming it was pure paradise!
